1 Introduction

The

“Lenco IR-2002” App is an application for iOS Smart Devices that allows users to control

their Lenco IR-2002 Internet Radio. Using the LENCO IR-2002 application, you can navigate
between the radio’s listening modes, and browse and play content remotely.

Connection can be via a network (Ethernet and wireless), or directly docked to the radio unit

being controlled depending on the capabilities of the radio unit.

LENCO IR-2002 works on all iPhones, iPads and iPod touch devices running iOS 3.1.3 or

later (also iPad devices in iPhone compatibility mode).

An Android version of the app is also available.

Note: Although only one radio can be actively controlled at any one time, once you have set a radio

unit to play in a particular mode, the unit will continue to operate in that mode even if you switch
to control another unit.

Note: For brevity, “Smart Device” is used in this guide to mean iPod touch or any Smartphone or

tablet running a suitable version of iOS operating system.

2 Getting Started

The app can control a radio unit from a Smart Device using a Wi-Fi Network connection. Before

LENCO IR-2002 can be used to control a radio unit, you must first establish a network
connection between the Smart Device and the radio unit(s) you wish to control.

2.1 Network Connection Setup

2.1.1 If the radio unit is using IR 2.2 or IR 2.5 firmware

1. On the radio unit, navigate to Menu > Main menu > System

settings > Network > Keep network connected, and select
YES.

The network connection now stays on even when the radio

unit is in standby mode. This setting is saved in the radio
unit’s memory.

2.1.2 Connecting to the same network

Set the Smart Device to use the same network access point as the

radio unit:

1. From the main Smart Device screen, select Settings > Wi-fi.

2. Choose the network, to which the radio unit(s) is connected,

from the list.
