Purpose
CDEX is a device driver allowing access to the CD-ROM drives on your
system. This driver is loaded in autoexec.bat or from the command
line. The driver provided with your CD-ROM hardware must be loaded
in config.sys prior to running CDEX.EXE.
Syntax
[d:][path]CDEX.EXE [/d:<name>] [/H|?][/L:<letter>][/M:<number>] [/X]
Remarks
/D:<Name> specifies the CD-ROM device name. The default name is
MSC002. This name must match the name used for the config.sys
installed device driver provided with the CD-ROM hardware.
/H or /? displays the help screen with syntax and examples.
/L:letter specifies the drive letter to use for the CD-ROM drive. The
next available drive letter is assigned if the /L option is not used.
/M:number specifies the number of sector buffers to use while
accessing the data on the CD-ROM drive. The default value is 4.
/X Use XMS memory for CD-ROM buffers
