1.2 Theory of Operation
A block diagram for the ICS-75 Integrated Shelf Combiner is shown in Figure 1-2.

Each of the eight channels enclosed in the combiner shelf is made up of a power
combiner/divider and a directional coupler. The polarity of the directional coupler is
dependent on whether the channel is an uplink or downlink.
The combiner/divider circuits in the ICS-75 are capable of holding four, six, or eight
input/output connectors.
