Features & Benefits

D-Link Product Guide 2008

The print servers allow users to share printers over the network through simple,

transparent printing operation. Tested with a wide range of different printer models,

D-Link print servers offer a high level of compatibility. They support multiple network

Operating Systems, including Windows, Mac OS and Linux, giving users the flexibility

of installing their print servers regardless of the network environment.

The single-port print servers are cost-effective for both large offices and small

workgroups. For homes and the small office with just one printer to share, these

single-port devices save costs. For large offices with many printers scattered at

different places, users can plug a single-port print server to each of these printers and

share them on the network.

The multi-port print servers have a number of printer ports, so users don’t need to

install a separate print server for each printer that they want to share. Where printers

are closely placed together, it makes sense to buy a print server that offers multiple

printer ports. Each of the printers can be attached to a port of the same print server

through a printer cable. Multi-port print servers are equipped with powerful CPU and

abundant RAM buffers, so even when all printers are printing at the same time, users

will not experience any degradation of performance.

The multifunction print servers allow users to take advantage of the scanning and fax

functions of the multifunction printers. These print servers will take care of sending

output scanned files to specified network destinations. Fax messages from users’

computers can also be sent to the print server for transmission from the printer.
