4. Insert the diskette to be formatted in the drive you selected
and press Enter. The screen displays the head and cylinder
numbers as the diskette is formatted.
When the format is complete, you see these messages (for a
360KB diskette):
Format complete
362496 bytes total disk space
362496 bytes available on disk
Format another (Y/N)?
You can format another diskette or return co the
OPER4TION MENU. Then press 3 and Enter to select
Systemdiagnostics.
Starting the Floppy Disk Drive Check
To run the floppy disk drive check, select option 6 from the
DEVICE LIST. After you choose the number of times to run
the test, the screen displays this menu:
FLOPPY DISK DRIVE(S) AND CONTROLLER CHECK MENU
l - Sequential seek check
2 - Randomseek check
3 - Write, read check
4 - Speed
check
5 - Run all above checks
0 - Exit
Enter selection number:
