Focusing with AF (AF Method)
The camera detects and focuses on human faces. If a face moves, the
AF point <p> also moves to track the face.

Display the Live View image.
Press the <0> button.

The Live View image will appear on
the LCD monitor.

Check the AF point.
When a face is detected, the area
frame and the <p> frame will appear
on the face for focusing.
If multiple faces are detected, <q>
will be displayed. Use the <9> to
move the <q> frame over the face
you want to focus on.
You can also tap on the LCD monitor
screen to select the face or subject. If
the subject is not a face, <z> will be
displayed.

Focus on the subject.
Press the shutter button halfway to focus.

If no faces can be detected or if you
do not tap on the LCD monitor, the
camera will switch to FlexiZone -
Multi with automatic selection (p.183).

When focus is achieved, the AF point will
turn green and the beeper will sound.

If focus is not achieved, the AF point
will turn orange.

Take the picture.
Check the focus and exposure, then
press the shutter button completely to
take the picture (p.174).
