When replacing the system board, ensure that the following
components are removed from the defective system board
and installed on the replacement system board:
■ Memory modules (Section 5.5 and 5.13)
■ Heat sink (Section 5.7)
■ Processor (Section 5.8)
■ Modem board (Section 5.11)
■ Mini PCI communications card (Section 5.12)
■ Fan assembly (Section 5.20)
1. Prepare the notebook for disassembly (Section 5.3)
and remove the following components:
❏ Combination drive (Section 5.6)
❏ Strip cover (Section 5.9)
❏ Keyboard (Section 5.10)
❏ Display assembly (Section 5.14)
❏ Base enclosure (Section 5.15)
❏ Speaker assembly (Section 5.16)
2. Turn the top cover right-side up with the rear panel
toward you.
