PRE-OPERATION INSPECTION

Pre-operation Inspection

Be sure that the operator’s, safety and

responsibilities manuals are complete, legible
and in the storage container located on the
platform.

R

Be sure that all decals are legible and in place.

See Decals section.

R

Check for battery fluid leaks and proper fluid

level. Add distilled water if needed. See
Maintenance section.

R

AC & DC models: Check for hydraulic oil leaks

and proper oil level. Add oil if needed. See
Maintenance section.

R

RT base models: Check for proper tire pressure.

Add air to tires if needed. See Maintenance
section.

R

Air models: Check the oil level of the airline

lubricator. See Maintenance section.

R

Air models: Check the oil lubricator canister drip

rate. Adjust as needed. See Maintenance
section.

R

Air models: Check the air filter/regulator

canister. Drain water as needed. See
Maintenance section.

Check the following components or areas for
damage, improperly installed or missing parts and
unauthorized modifications:

Electrical components, wiring and
electrical cables

R

AC & DC models: Hydraulic power unit,
hoses, fittings and cylinder

R

Air models: Air power unit, air lines, fittings
and cylinder

R

Platform entry mid-rail or gate

R

Sequencing cables and pulleys

R

Lifting chains and idler wheels

R

Nuts, bolts and other fasteners

R

Mast columns and counterweight

R

Breather cap

R

Outriggers, leveling jacks and footpads

R

Adjustable glide pads

Check entire machine for:

R

Dents or damage

R

Corrosion or oxidation

R

Cracks in welds or structural components

R

Inspect and clean battery terminals and all

battery cable connections.

R

Be sure that all structural and other critical

components are present and all associated
fasteners and pins are in place and properly
tightened.
