Appendix B. Troubleshooting

The following table provides troubleshooting information for the projector. In some
cases, more than one possible solution is provided. Try the solutions in the order
they are presented. When the problem is solved, you can skip the additional
solutions.

Problem

Solution

No start up screen.

v

Plug the power cord into the left side of the
projector.

v

Remove the lens cap.

v

Toggle the power switch.

Only the start up screen appears.

v

Press the computer button.

v

Activate the laptop’s external port.

v

Restart the laptop.

No computer image, just the
words “Signal out of range.”

v

Press the Auto Image button on the keypad.

v

Set your computer’s display resolution to the native
resolution of the projector (Start>Settings>Control
Panel>Display>Settings tab) and select 800x600, as
shown in Figure B-1

For a laptop, turn on the dual display mode.

The image is fuzzy or cropped.

Set your computer’s display resolution to the native
resolution of the projector (Start>Settings>Control
Panel>Display>Settings tab) and select 800x600 as
shown in Figure B-1.

For a laptop, turn on the dual display mode.

The image is not centered on the
screen.

Move the projector, adjust the zoom, and adjust the
height.

Adjust the horizontal or vertical position in the
Picture>Advanced menu.

The image is not square.

Adjust the Keystone on the keypad.

The image is not sharp.

Adjust the sharpness (video sources only) in the
Pictures>Advanced menu.
