U MOTION INDEX

For setting whether to set the picture on the top left of the Library Database Navigation screen or Editing screen to that of the
selected programme or broadcast screen. If a programme recorded in DV mode is selected during recording or temporary
recording, the broadcast screen will be displayed.

OFF

The broadcast screen will be displayed.

ON

The selected programme will be displayed.

FUNCTION SET UP > REC/PLAY SET UP

V XP MODE REC AUDIO

For setting the audio mode when recording in XP mode. (This setting is invalid for HDD Y DVD dubbing.)

DOLBY DIGITAL

Normal audio mode.

LINEAR PCM

High sound quality mode.

W AUDIO REC

Set if recording NICAM bilingual broadcasts.

NICAM

Records in bilingual mode.

MONO

Records in normal sound mode.

X DIRECT REC

If connected with a TV supporting T-V Link, channels being watched on TV can be recorded instantly.

OFF

Disable.

ON

Enable.

Y INPUT COLOUR SYSTEM

For selecting the colour format of the image.

PAL

When recording input signals in PAL format.

SECAM

When recording input signals in SECAM format.

Z JUMP TIME

For setting the jump interval for

Jumps in 15-minute interval.

Jumps in 30-minute interval.

Jumps in 1-hour interval.

a PROGRAMME ALERT

A function to warn that there are programmes that cannot be recorded for the weekly/daily timer programming due to
insufficient remaining capacity of the HDD. For setting the period where warning is required. (Displayed when the unit is turned
on.)

OFF

No warning.

WITHIN 1 DAY

Warns that there are programmes that cannot be recorded within 1 day, …, within
6 days, within 1 week, …, within 5 weeks.
