About the DISC playback indications
Ex. 1: While playing a DVD.
Ex. 2: While playing a SVCD/VCD/CD.
* About the indication of current disc type
– “CD”: shows an CD is loaded.
– “VCD”: shows a SVCD or VCD is loaded.
• When an SVCD or VCD is loaded with PBC
function, “PBC” appears instead of elapsed
playing time.
Ex. 3: While playing an MP3.
Ex. 4: While playing a JPEG.

Loading Discs

Press 0 for the disc tray (DISC1 – DISC5) you
want to load a disc onto.
The unit automatically turns on and the corresponding disc tray
comes out.

Place a disc correctly on the circle of the disc tray,
with its label side up.
• When using a CD single (8 cm), place it on the inner circle of
the disc tray.

Press the same 0 you have pressed in step 1.
Disc tray closes (and playback starts automatically for some
discs).
• When you press
0 for the next tray you want to place another
disc onto, the first disc tray automatically closes and then the
next tray comes out.
About the DISC READY lamps
Each DISC READY lamp shows the status of a disc placed on
each corresponding disc tray (DISC1 – DISC5).
• DISC READY lamps light up
When the disc is loaded and currently selected.
• DISC READY lamps light slightly
When the disc is loaded, but not currently selected.
• DISC READY lamp flashes
When the disc is played back or paused.
• DISC READY lamps turns off
When the unit detects there is no disc loaded on a certain
tray. (“NO DISC # (number)” appears on the display.)
While display brightness is dimmed (page 16)
Only DISC READY lamp of the selected tray number lights up
slightly.
If there is no disc loaded on the selected disc tray, all the DISC
READY lamps go off.
If the loaded disc currently selected is an MP3 disc
The corresponding DISC READY lamp and the MP3 indicator
will light up.
