CORRECTIVE ACTION

Set the clock and/or timer correctly.

Press TIMER and check to make sure
that ‰ appears on the front display
panel.
Re-perform the set-up procedures.
Make sure you have compensated for
Guide Channel and VCR or cable
box channel number mismatches
(

pg. 42).

Timer programming can’t be performed
when timer recording is in progress.
Wait until it finishes.

VHS deck
Load a cassette with the Record
Safety tab intact, or cover the hole
using adhesive tape.
DV deck
Load a cassette with the erase
protection switch set to "REC".

Remove the cassette and cover the
hole with adhesive tape, or insert a
cassette with the Record Safety tab
intact.
Remove the cassette and set the erase
protection switch to "REC".

Check the programmed data and re-
program as necessary, then press
TIMER again.

The program may not have been
recorded in its entirety. Next time
make sure you have enough time on
the tape to record the entire program.

SYMPTOM

1. Timer recording won’t work.

2. Timer programming won’t work.

3. ‰ and ] on the front display

panel won’t stop blinking.

4. The cassette is automatically

ejected, and ‰ and ] on the
front display panel won’t stop
blinking.

5. ‰ blinks for 10 seconds and the

timer mode is disengaged.

6. The cassette is automatically

ejected, the power shuts off and ‰
and ] won’t stop blinking.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

● The clock and/or the timer have

been set incorrectly.

● The timer is not engaged.

● The VCR has not been set up properly.

● Timer recording is in progress.

● The timer is engaged but there’s no

cassette loaded.

VHS deck

The loaded cassette has had its
Record Safety tab removed.

DV deck

The loaded cassette has had its erase
protection switch set to "SAVE".

TIMER has been pressed when there

are no programs in memory, or the
timer record program information
has not been programmed correctly.

● The end of tape was reached during

timer recording.

SYMPTOM

4. Audio dubbing is not possible.

5. Monitoring the audio-dubbed

sound is not possible during audio
dubbing using the DV deck.

6. The programmed memory of

Random Assmble Editing is
disappeared.

7. When performing Tape Dubbing,

the beginning of the dubbing start
point is not dubbed.

RECORDING

POSSIBLE CAUSE

● "SOUND MODE" on the DV Mode

Set Menu had been set to "48kHz" at
the original recording.

● The tape speed had been set to LP at

the original recording.

● This is normal.

● The memory backup time has

expired.

● This is normal.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Set "SOUND MODE" to "32kHz" at
the original recording (

pg. 33).

Set the tape speed to SP at the
original recording.

Monitor the sound using the
connected devices.

Perform Random Assemble Editing
again.
