1. Enter the phone number you want to save. We suggest that you
save numbers using 10 digits (area code + number) so you can
dial them from your phone book while traveling outside your
Sprint PCS Home Service Area. SM
2. Press the dial to access the Options menu.
3. The screen will then display, “Find Number,” “Talk” and “Save.”
Turn the dial until the arrow points to “Save” then press the dial.
4. Next, enter a name to go with the number. To enter a letter, press
the number key on which it’s stored. (See the Alphanumeric
Table on page 29.) Press the key in quick succession to scroll
through the characters stored on the key. If you miss the letter
you want, just keep pressing the key until it reappears. After a
brief pause, the cursor will move one space to the right. You can
also move the cursor by pressing and or by
turning the dial. To correct any mistakes, press .
5. When the name is entered correctly, press the dial.
6. To store the number in the next available memory location,
just press the dial again. If you want to store the number in
another location, simply enter a two-digit location number or
turn the dial to find the desired location, then press the dial.
If the phone book is full, the display screen will read, “Memory Full!
No more phone book entries open.” If you want to add a new entry

even though the phone book is full, enter the number and name as
described above. After the name is entered, the phone will prompt you
for the memory location you want to overwrite with the screen:
“Memory full, enter location #.” Enter the number of the location you
want to replace with the new number, then press the dial. If you
decide not to replace an existing entry, press and hold down the
key to cancel the transaction.
Entering letters and punctuation.
Each time you press a number key, it cycles through the characters as
follows:
