the phone emits an audible ring at the “high”

setting.

22: Mute/Unmute Access this feature when you are on a call and

need to switch the microphone on or off.

When the microphone is muted, the other

party cannot hear you. You can also mute or

unmute the microphone during a call by

pressing and holding the dial.

23: Key Beep

This adjusts the volume of the beep you hear

when keys are pressed. You can select “off,”

“low,” “medium” and “high.”

24: Earpiece

Use this feature to adjust the earpiece volume.

You can also adjust the earpiece volume during

a call by turning the dial.

25: Ringer Type

Use this feature to change the sound of your

phone’s ring. As you turn the dial to scroll

through the five possible settings, your phone

will play the ringer options for you.

26: Key Sound

This adjusts the sound your phone makes

when you press a key. Your options are

“tones” and “clicks”. The other party will hear

tones if you press the keys during a call,

even if you select “clicks.”

27: Key Beep

You can set the length of the beep that sounds

when you press a key. Your options are

“standard” and “long.” The key beep length

may be important if you use your phone to

pick up messages from your home answering

machine or to access automated phone systems.

This setting affects both the key beep and touch-

tone signals (see page 39).

28: Message Ring This setting determines how you will be

notified that you have a new message. If you

select “on,” an alert sounds when you receive

a new message. If you select “+ reminder,” a

beep will sound every two minutes to remind

you that you have an unread message. If you

select “off,” beeps will not sound when you

receive new messages. If Ring Volume is set to

“vibration,” the phone will vibrate rather than

ring when a new message is received.
