the key guard, just extend the mouthpiece or

press in

quick

succession. You do not need to remove the key

guard to answer the phone. You can guard the

keypad even when the phone itself is locked.

The backlight and key beeps are turned off

when the keypad is guarded. You can also

guard the keypad by pressing and holding the

dial from the standby display.

52: Touch Dial

With this feature you can dial a phone number

stored in the phone book without pressing

. When Touch Dialing is turned on

and the mouthpiece is extended, just enter the

memory location number and hold down the

last digit for about two seconds. The name

and number of the memory location will be

displayed and the phone will dial the number.

53: Auto-Retry

This programs the phone to automatically

redial a number when the number or the

system is busy. The phone will retry the number

every three seconds up to five times.

54: Scratch Pad

When you are on a call and need to jot down

a phone number, just access this feature and

use the key pad to enter the number. It will be

saved in your Calls List. When the Calls List

reaches more than 10 list items, the oldest

entries will be deleted as needed to make room

for new entries. To save a number when you

aren’t on a call, use the internal phone book.

Securing your phone.

6: Security. This option allows you to lock your Sprint PCS Phone to

prevent unwanted usage. When your phone is locked you can still

receive incoming calls or make emergency calls, but all other phone

functions are disabled.

Unlike other items on the Features menu, you must enter a lock

code to access the Security menu. Your lock code number is typically

the last four digits of your Sprint PCS Phone Number. You can change

it, but be sure to keep a record of your new code. If you forget it,

you will have to take your phone to the nearest Sprint PCS Center

for assistance.
