Using the message service.

1: Messages. This menu shows you how many messages are stored

in your voicemail box or in your phone.

11: Voice

From this menu setting, just press the dial to

see how many messages are stored in your

voicemail box. To erase the notification, press

the dial, turn it to select “Erase Msg,” then

press the dial again. To listen to your messages,

just press

and you will be connected

to the voicemail system. You can also reach

your voicemail box by extending the mouthpiece

then pressing and holding the

key

from the standby display. (For more information

on voicemail, see page 25.)

12: New Text

If you have optional text messaging service,

this feature will give you access to unread

messages. Urgent messages are listed first,

followed by non-urgent ones. (Refer to the

separate Messaging Services Guide for more

information on text messaging.)

13: Old Text

When text messaging is available, use this

feature to reread old messages.

14: Erase Old

This feature will allow you to discard old text

messages.

Adjusting your phone’s sounds.

2: Sounds. This allows you to adjust the volume of the ringer, key

beep and earpiece. In addition, you can select the type of sounds you

hear when the phone rings and when you press keys.

21: Ringer Volume Your options include: “off,” “low,” “med.”

(medium), “high,” “escalate,” and “vibration.”

If you turn the ringer volume to “off,” the

message “—Ringer Off—” will be displayed

at the top of the standby display screen. If you

select “escalate,” the phone will ring twice at

a low volume, then once at a medium volume,

and thereafter at a high volume. If you choose

“vibration,” the phone emits a vibration instead

of an audible ring. The “vibration” setting isn’t

available when the phone is used in conjunction

with a hands-free car kit or a portable hands-

free car kit. If the phone is connected to a wall
