Blower Not Running Properly

Blower Not Running Properly (with Door Closed)

Does

blower run when unit is

cold (door closed)?

Blower motor is overheating. Check operation

of cooling fan in control compartment and

replace as necessary.

Is there

continuity in both

cases?

Replace

fan switch.

Reconnect 4-pin connector.

No

Yes

No

Yes

Is there continuity with door closed

and no continuity with door open?

Check door switch actuator mechanism by

closing door and observing movement of door

switch lever. Adjust or repair as necessary.

Replace door switch as necessary.

Put fan switch in “LO” position.

No

Yes

Disconnect 4-pin connector. Place fan switch in

“HI” position. Locate the terminals where

Wires 21 and 55 are attached and check

for continuity between these terminals. Place
the fan switch in “LO” position. Locate the

terminals where Wires 22 and 56 are

attached. Check for continuity.

Slide control panel out. Disconnect plug PL20 (plug

PL2 for ovens built before March 1, 2002).

Place test leads in terminals on switch side of plug.

Close door. Check for continuity.

Open door. Check for continuity.

Replace control

board.

Replace motor.

Is voltage

the rated-voltage

of oven?

No

Yes

TURN OFF GAS SHUT-OFF VALVE.

Close door. Disconnect 3-pin connector at

motor. Turn unit on. Check voltage between

Wires 25 and 8 by inserting test leads into the

harness side of plug PL22 (plug PL8 for ovens

built before March 1, 2002). The voltage should

be the rated voltage of the oven (120VAC or

208VAC, as shown on the serial plate).
