5.3 Feeding Paper Manually
Paper can be fed manually through the Bypass Tray if you want to copy onto paper that is not
loaded in any tray, or if you want to copy onto special paper, such as OHP transparencies,
postcards, or cards.
The following types of paper can be fed through the Bypass Tray
● Plain paper (weighing 16 lbs. to 24 lbs.)
● Recycled paper (weighing 16 lbs. to 24 lbs.)
● Special paper: Card (weighing 24-1/4 lbs. to 42 lbs.), OHP transparencies, postcards, and
labels
Sizes of paper that can be fed through the Bypass Tray
● Maximum size: 11-11/16 in. × 17 in.
● Minimum size: 3-9/16 in. × 5-1/2 in.

Note
Insert one sheet of paper at a time when using the Manual Bypass Tray to make a copy. If
the optional Multiple Bypass is mounted, the Bypass Tray can hold up to 50 sheets of paper,
or 20 sheets of cards, postcard, or OHP transparencies.
