Switch the operational mode from the single mode to the
mirroring mode

To change the operational mode from the single mode to the mirroring mode, do the following.

z

Open the front cover and confirm that both
the USE buttons are blinking green
(indicating that two hard disk drives are
mounted).

Notes:

• The USE button indicates the status of the corresponding hard disk drive as follows.

Being lit green: The power of the HDD (formatted) is on.
Blinking orange: In the process of mounting or unmounting (shutdown) the HDD
Blinking green: The power of the HDD (unformatted) is on.
Off: One of the following

• The power of the HDD is off
• No HDD is connected or mounted on the corresponding HDD bay slot

Being lit orange: In the process of recording, or obtaining SD memory data (images on the SD memory card)
Blinking red: In the HDD exchange warning status
Being lit red: In the HDD capacity warning status (HDD is running out)
Refer to the setup instructions (PDF) for further information about the HDD exchange warning and the HDD
capacity warning.

• Refer to page 13 for how to mount the hard disk drive.

Hold down the both FORMAT buttons for 5
seconds or more.

→ Formatting of the hard disk drives in the mir-

roring mode will start. (The buzzer will start
sounding and the FORMAT buttons will start
blinking green.)
When completing the format, operation in the
mirroring mode will automatically start.
(Blinking of the FORMAT buttons will go off
and the USE buttons and the MIRROR indica-
tor will light green.)
