Hard Disk Drive Management
The following descriptions are of how to mount or format the hard disk drive, and of how to recover data on the disk
(only when using in the mirroring mode).
Mount the hard disk drive
Mount the hard disk drive as follows.

Insert the hard disk drive from the connector
side of the hard disk drive into the empty
HDD bay slot.

Hold down the USE button respective to the
HDD bay slot to which the hard disk drive is
to be inserted for 2 seconds or more.
→ The mounting process will start. (The buzzer
will start sounding and the corresponding USE
button will start blinking orange.)
When completing the mounting process, the
USE button will light or blink green to indicate
whether the mounted hard disk drive is format-
ted. When being lit green, the mounted hard
disk drive is formatted. When blinking green,
the mounted hard disk drive is unformatted.
Remove the hard disk drive
Remove the hard disk drive from the unit as follows.

Open the front cover and confirm that both
the USE buttons are being lit green
(indicating that two hard disk drives are
mounted).

Hold down the USE button respective to the
HDD bay slot from which the hard disk drive
is to be removed for 2 seconds or more.
→ The shutdown (unmount) process will start.
(The corresponding USE button will start blink-
ing orange.)
When completing the shutdown process, the
USE button will go off.
Remove the hard disk drive after confirming
that the USE button is not being lit nor blinking.
Note:
Refer to page 11 for further information about the status of the hard disk drive indicated by the USE button.
