NEC 1765 Administration Software for
TCP/IP

The NEC 1765 Administration software for TCP/IP
allows you to display and modify configuration
information for the NEC Silentwriter 1765. The next
section describes specific tasks and the steps to
complete them. Information about specific windows,
dialog boxes, and menu options begins on page 5-38.

NEC 1765 Administration software depends

on the TCP/IP network protocol. Make sure that the
TCP/IP network protocol has been loaded and
configured in Windows before running NEC 1765
Administration software. Your system administrator can
help with this.

Using NEC 1765 Administration Software for
TCP/IP

This section describes the steps to perform specific
network and printer configuration tasks with NEC 1765
Administration software for TCP/IP. Detailed
information about NEC 1765 Administration software
windows, dialog boxes, and menus begins on page 5-38.

Displaying Available Printers

You can display a list of available printers on the
network and sort and filter the list.
1.

Open the NEC 1765 Administration software.

2.

The Printer Administration window displays a list
of all printers on the network that are configured to
work with NEC 1765 software.

You can change which information is displayed in the
list. You can display the printer name or MAC address,
the IP address or LAN card type, and the printer status
or LAN card firmware version.

Select the Preference menu option from the Option
menu from the Printer Administration window
menu bar.

In the first column you can select printer name or
MAC address. Choose Printer Name or MAC
Address

from the menu next to the 1st column text

box.

3.

In the second column you can display IP address or
hardware type. Choose IP Address or LAN Card
Type

from the menu next to the 2nd column text

box.

4.

In the third column you can display printer status
or LAN card firmware version. Choose Printer
Status

or LAN Card Firmware Version from the

menu next to the 3rd column text box.

5.

Select the OK button to save the new information
and leave the Preference dialog box
Or
Select the Cancel button to keep the old information
and leave the Preference dialog box.
