Installing the Server Switch Unit on Desktop

Do not install the server switch unit in an area fitting to any of the conditions listed below. Installing
the unit in such an area may cause some malfunction to occur.

A place of uneven or slanting floor

n

A place of rapid temperature change (near a heater, air conditioner, or refrigerator)

n

A place in which intense vibration may be generated

n

A place in which corrosive gas is generated, near which chemicals are placed, or in which
chemicals may be splashed to the server switch unit

n

A place on which a carpet not subject to anti-static process is laid

n

A place in which some objects may be fallen on the server switch unit

n

A place near which a device generating intense magnetic field (such as a TV, radio,
broadcast/communication antenna, power transmission wire, and electromagnetic crane) is
placed (If unavoidable, ask your service representative to provide proper shield construction.)

n

A place in which the AC cord of the server switch unit must be connected to an AC outlet of the
line shared with another earth line (for a device of large power consumption in particular)

n

A place near which a device generating power noise (including contact spark occurring at
turning on/off the commercial power by relay) is placed
(To install the server switch unit near a device generating power noise, ask your service
representative to separate the power line from the device or install proper noise filters.)

Tips

Attach four rubber feet (shock absorber) to the bottom of the server switch unit
when installing it on the desktop, as shown in the figure below.
