Programming Menu Instructions

Macro Editor Procedure (Optional)

This procedure allows you to create a sequence of commands that are launched with one key touch or other event. For example,
you can create a macro to lower a motorized screen and set the receiver in surround mode when you press the Play key when a
DVD player is selected as the source. Also, you can use macros to send multiple power commands to the amp/receiver and
sources for power management (see Power Management Procedure on page 35).

Up to 132 macros can be created for the system, and each macro can contain up to 10 commands including other macros. See
Macro Editor Procedure flow chart on page 52.

To begin the Macro Editor Procedure, select MACRO EDITOR from the top level of the Programming Menu and press Play

1.

MACRO ID – Select and enter the ID for the macro you want to create or edit. Initially the list includes numbers 1 through
132. As macros are named, the macro names replace the numbers in the list.

2.

MACRO NAME (optional) – Select and enter a name for the macro. The name you enter will become the macro ID.

3.

COMMAND NUM – Select and enter a command number from 1 to 10. When the macro runs, commands are sent in numeric
order.

4.

COMMAND TYPE – Select and enter a command type for the device. Choose one of the following options:

a.

Select and enter Default to use the same command type previously selected for the device in BASIC SETUP.

i.

KEY FUNCTION – Select and enter the function you want the command to perform (e.g., Play). Procedure returns
to COMMAND NUM (step 3).

b.

Select and enter Learned IR to use a particular learned IR command not included in the default command type. (See
Learn IR Procedure on page 25.)

i.

LEARNED SRC – Select and enter the Learned Source location assigned to the device.

ii.

KEY FUNCTION – Select and enter the function you want the command to perform (e.g., Play). Procedure returns
to COMMAND NUM (step 3).

c.

Select and enter a specific device (e.g., CD, TV) to use an IR device code from the built-in library.
