Update Firmware Procedure (Optional)
This procedure allows you to update the SaphIR K2’s firmware from a computer using a Russound Programming Cable (part number
2500-121036) connected to the programming port on the side of the keypad (see diagram on page 18). Updates and instructions
are made available in the Document Center at www.russound.com. See System Menu flow chart on page 53.
Note: Before updating firmware, make a backup copy of the current keypad programming. Use the Backup/Restore Utility available
in the Document Center at www.russound.com.
To begin the Update Firmware Procedure, select UPDATE FIRMWARE from the System Menu and press Play .
1. HOLD PLAY – Press and hold the Play key. The keypad displays Update firmw - after update cycle power.
2. START UPDATE – Begin the firmware update procedure. Once the procedure is complete, cycle power to the keypad or press
the reset button on the rear of the keypad.
Factory Initialization Procedure (Optional)
WARNING: This procedure erases all programming and returns the keypad to its original settings. Use with discretion.
This procedure erases all programmed settings and returns the keypad to the factory default settings. Once this procedure is used,
the keypad will have to be completely reprogrammed and any learned IR commands will have to be relearned.
When the procedure begins, the keypad displays an Are you sure? prompt. Selecting No cancels the procedure. Selecting Yes
loads the factory default settings. The keypad displays Please wait during this process and Done upon completion. Once the pro-
cedure is completed, cycle power to the keypad. See System Menu flow chart on page 53.
Diagnostics Procedure (Factory Only)
The Diagnostics procedure is for manufacturing tests only. See System Menu flow chart on page 53.
