Charging the battery

When fully charged, the handheld battery provides enough power for 6 hours using
GPS and with the backlight on at the default settings. When not using GPS, but with
the backlight on at the default settings, the battery provides enough power for up to 10
hours.

Note –

Using Bluetooth wireless technology or wireless LAN connectivity consumes

additional battery power and so shortens battery life between charges.

Charge the battery in the handheld (see

Inserting the battery, page 23

). To charge the

battery, do one of the following:

Connect the AC power adaptor to the Power/USB socket on the handheld and
then connect the adaptor to mains power. An international adaptor kit is
provided with the handheld.

Connect the USB cable to the Power/USB socket on the handheld and then
connect the USB cable to a USB socket on an office computer.

Note –

You can only use the USB cable to “top up” the battery. To charge the battery from a

computer using the USB cable, the battery must have enough power to turn on the Juno ST
handheld and form an active connection to the computer.

Connect the vehicle power adaptor to the Power/USB socket on the handheld
and then connect the adaptor to the vehicle power source.

When the handheld is connected to a power source, the battery icon in the Today
