Using the Timer Functions

Specify the alarm time ([ALARM TIME]).
Press the [

]/[

] buttons to select the hour or

minute, use the [VOL +/-] buttons to set the value,
then press the [MENU/ENTER] button.

Press the [VOL +/-] buttons to select [BEEP] or
[MUSIC] as the alarm sound, then press the
[MENU/ENTER] button.

Note:

· If you wish to use your favorite song as the alarm instead of a beep, first connect the

recorder to a computer, then place your favorite MP3 or WMA music file in the ALARM
folder (see

page 58

). Then select [MUSIC]. If there is no file in the ALARM folder, a beep

will sound instead of music. Make sure that the recorder’s volume level is set appropri-
ately. If the volume level is set to “0,” you will not hear the alarm at the programmed
time.

Press the [STOP/ESC

] button twice.

The alarm is now programmed.
At the programmed time, the alarm will go off. If you selected “BEEP,” a beep will
sound for about 10 seconds. If you selected “MUSIC,” the music file (the entire
song) in the ALARM folder will be played back.

Note:

· The alarm indicator (

) will flash while the alarm is sounding.

· Press the [STOP/ESC

] button to stop the alarm.

· You can program the time up to 24 hours ahead.
· The alarm will be cancelled once the programmed alarm has sounded.
· You cannot program Timer recording if the alarm has already been programmed, and

vice versa.

Canceling the alarm
Select [CANCEL] in step 2 of the “Programming the
alarm” procedure, then press the [MENU/ENTER] button.
The alarm indicator (

) disappears.

[BEEP]

Beep sound

[MUSIC]

A music file in the ALARM folder will be played.
