1. Make sure the display on your meter is working

properly.

2. Check the “Use By” date on the test drum container.
3. Make sure the test drum container is always tightly

capped when stored.

4. Make sure your meter and test drum are always stored

in a cool, dry place.

5. Make sure you always follow proper maintenance and

handling procedures.

6. Make sure your system is working properly.
7. Make sure you followed all the testing steps.

8. If your blood sugar results still don’t match the way you

feel …

Read Chapter 5, “Maintenance and Testing.”

If it is past the “Use By” date, use a new test drum.
If you think it may have been uncapped for some time,

replace the test drum.
Repeat the test with a properly stored test drum.

Read Chapter 2, “Control Testing” and run a control test.
Read Chapter 3, “Testing Your Blood Sugar with Blood

from your Fingertip,” and repeat a blood sugar test.
