have the access rights based upon the security privilege level for the
user access level.

Assigning Access Levels to System Areas

Security privilege access levels range from one to nine. The security levels
you assign to system privileges are hierarchical.

Level 1 grants full administrator access. It is the highest access level.

The lowest possible access level is Level 9. The lowest access level is a
“read-only” level which provides for running reports, querying the
database, viewing history records, and performing any other function
that does not change the data.

You do not have to assign all nine levels of access. If you want to use
only five levels, then 5 would represent the lowest level of access in
your hierarchical system.

When using access levels 1 through 5, to make your lowest access level
a “read-only” level, assign all security privileges a level 4, 3, 2, or 1.
That way, a user assigned to Level 5 would not have access to any sys-
tem privileges. (All users, even those with security access levels out-
side the range of any system privileges can run reports, query the
database, look at the history records, and perform any other function
that does not change the data.)

Security privilege access levels are assigned at the Security Privilege form.
In this form, an access level is assigned to each ribbon area in the system.
When assigning access levels to security privileges, consider the function
and its importance to your organization and your work flow.

To assign an access level to a system menu area and/or menu options,
please refer to the steps that follow:

1.

Select Tools > Security > Privileges option from the ribbon.
