Problem:
Sometimes NBU job submitted from HP 3PAR Recovery Manager for Exchange gets completed
from NBU side, but HP 3PAR Recovery Manager for Exchange GUI still shows that backup job is
in progress.
Suggestion:
It might be because Microsoft .NET DLLs did not get loaded properly, or it failed to load during
Recovery Manager for Exchange NBU cleanup process. You must reinstall Microsoft .NET v4.0
on affected server, and retry the Recovery Manager for Exchange Backup commands.
Problem:
HP 3PAR Recovery Manager For Exchange command "Create with Validation" fails with the error
"VSS unexpected error" and event viewer shows the error "LUN didn’t arrive in expected
time”

.

Suggestion:

Ensure that all HBA drivers are updated as per the SPOCK website

http://www.hp.com/

storage/spock

.

Verify that number of HP 3PAR CLI connections do not exceed per StoreServ limit.

Problem:
HP 3PAR Recovery Manager for Exchange NBU media analyze command returns following error
message:

No backups were found in the NBU catalog! RM backup repository will not
be synchronized.

Suggestion:
This message is seen when HP 3PAR Recovery Manager for Exchange does not find any backups
in the NBU catalog. This can happen in either of the following two scenarios:

All Recovery Manager for Exchange created backups are expired.

NBU client returned no backups found when actually there are unexpired backups still available
in the catalog.

Since HP 3PAR Recovery Manager for Exchange cannot differentiate between the two scenarios,
analyze command returns an error without synchronizing the repository. This is done to avoid
inadvertent removal of all the backup information of the selected application object from HP 3PAR
Recovery Manager for Exchange repository.
If backups are expired, contact Symantec for further troubleshooting.
If NBU client gives no backups found message, create at least one backup and issue the same
command again.
Problem:
Mounting of Recovery Manager for Exchange snapshot fails with following error:

Import snapshot information to backup server.
RME5189: ERROR: Fail to mount to specified mount point, in iSCSI
environment of RME Configuration
Currently unmounted.
UnMount Successful

Suggestion:
Check it the iSCSI hostname of the Recovery Manager for Exchange Production server or Backup
servers created on HP 3PAR StoreServ is same as the name mentioned in the iSCSI initiator's
configuration tab.

NOTE:

The name is case sensitive. When checking iSCSI hostname, exclude the iqn number

from the name mentioned in the iSCSI initiator's configuration tab.

For example:
If host side iqn number is iqn.1991-05.com.microsoft:rmebackupsvr.2k10vfc.com
