within the licensed capacity of each copy product. Additional licenses are required when the target
volumes for pair configuration exceed the licensed capacity. You can view and monitor the used
capacity and copy license usage percentage for each copy product to prevent license expiry. You
can configure alerts to get notifications when copy license usage reaches a particular threshold or
exceeds the licensed capacity.

Checking copy license usage

To check copy license usage:

1.

From the Explorer menu, select Resources, and then Storage Systems.

The Storage Systems subwindow appears.

2.

Expand the object tree, and then select a storage system under Storage Systems.

The summary information for the selected storage system is displayed.

3.

Click the Open link or Mainframe link.

The Open subwindow or Mainframe subwindow appears.

4.

Click the Copy Licenses tab.

The license usage information for different copy types is displayed in the Copy License Usage
field.

About data protection status

The protection status display allows quick identification of the cases shown in the table.

The latest replica is current (the last scheduled replica was successful).

Normal

The latest replica is older than expected (the last scheduled replica was unsuc-
cessful).

Warning

No replica is available due to task failures.

Critical

No replica is available as the task has not yet been created/executed.

Unknown
