Configurations in which multiple information store data files within the same storage group are
stored on the same LDEV
You can restore all information stores stored on the same LDEV provided that you specify all the
information stores. In this case, if you do not specify all information stores located on the same
LDEV, the restore operation will fail.
NOTE:
When data files (
*.edb
and
*.stm
), transaction log files (
*.log
), and check point files (
*.chk
)
in different storage groups are located on the same LDEV, information stores below a storage group
that shares the LDEV
cannot be restored individually.
The following figure shows a database configuration that allows restoration in units of information
stores.

In the above example, information stores from IS11 to IS14 belong to the storage group SG1. In this
case, you can restore backup data in the following units:
•
Restore only IS11 individually
•
Restore IS13 and IS14 at the same time (you cannot restore just one)
•
Restore only IS12 individually
