Description

Name

A configuration in which the same configuration definition file that defines the primary
volume on the primary site is managed by a single server, and the configuration
definition file that defines the secondary volume on the secondary site is managed by
multiple servers.

1:M
(one-to-many)

A combination of the N:1 and 1:M configurations.

N:M
(N-to-many)

A configuration in which the configuration definition files that define the primary and
secondary volumes on the primary and the secondary sites are managed by multiple
servers. The pair management servers must recognize command devices on both the
primary and secondary sites.

N:N
(N-to-N)

The following figure depicts an example configuration.

Registering redundant pair management server nodes (while creating a copy
group)

You register the initial primary/secondary pair management servers when creating a new copy group
from the Group Management page of the Pair Configuration Wizard:
