To define a 2DC Configuration, do the following from the primary site (the step numbers corresponds
to the numbers indicated in

Figure 81 (page 148)

):

1.

Perform a local scan at the primary site.

This creates the disk configuration definition file for the primary site. For details on how to
perform scans, see

“Acquiring volume information (preparations)” (page 125)

.

2.

Perform a local scan at the secondary site.

This creates a disk configuration definition file for the secondary site. For details on how to
perform scans, see

“Acquiring volume information (preparations)” (page 125)

.

3.

Transfer the disk configuration definition file for the secondary site to the primary site.

4.

Define a path set consisting of the logical paths in the forward direction (from the primary site
to the secondary site) from the primary site or specify the logical paths using Remote Web
Console.

For Continuous Access Journal Z copy groups, define a path set consisting of inter-disk controller
logical paths. For Continuous Access Synchronous Z or TrueCopy Asynchronous for Mainframe
copy groups, define a path set consisting of inter-control unit logical paths.

.

5.

Establish the logical paths in the forward direction (from the primary site to the secondary site)
from the primary site.

For Continuous Access Journal Z copy groups, establish the inter-disk controller logical paths.
