Format a Memory Card

Formatting a memory card permanently removes all files stored on the card.

1. From

Start, swipe left to Apps, and then tap

Settings.

2. Swipe left or right to display System, and then tap phone storage > SD card > format

SD card.

Warning:

Formatting erases all the data on an installed memory card, after which the files
CANNOT be retrieved. To prevent the loss of important data, please check the
contents before you format a card.

Remove a microSD Card

When you need to remove an optional installed memory card, you must remove the memory
card from the phone properly to avoid losing data on the card.

For best results, turn the phone off before removing a memory card.

If you need to remove a card without turning the phone off, follow these steps:

1. From

Start, swipe left to Apps, and then tap

Settings.

2. Swipe left or right to display System, and then tap phone storage > SD card > remove

SD card > yes.

3. Remove the phone cover, and then remove the memory card.

Transfer Files Between Your Phone and a Computer

There are several ways to move files between your phone and a computer. The method you use
depends on the type of file, the type of computer, and your preference.

Connect Your Phone and Computer using the USB Cable

You can connect your phone to a computer using the USB cable (included), and then use
Windows Explorer or the Windows Phone app to move files.

1. Connect your phone to your computer using the supplied USB/charging cable. You may

need to remove the USB cable from the Charging Head.

 Insert the smaller end of the cable to the USB Charger/Accessory jack at the bottom

of the phone.

 Insert the larger end of the cable into an available USB port on your computer.
