Solution

Your camera does not
work.

• You are not using an “InfoLITHIUM” battery

pack.

• The battery level is low. (The E indicator

appears.)

• The AC power adaptor is not connected

securely.

• The built-in microcomputer is not working

properly.

p Use an “InfoLITHIUM” battery pack (page 13).

p Charge the battery pack (page 13).

p Connect it securely to the DC IN jack of your camera and to a

wall outlet (wall socket) (page 16).

p Turn the power off and then on after one minute, and check that

the camera works properly.

The power is on, but the
camera does not work.

• The built-in microcomputer is not working

properly.

p Remove the battery pack, then install it again after about one

minute and turn on the camera. If the functions still do not work,
press the RESET button located on the bottom of the camera
with a fine-tipped object, then turn the power on again. (When
you press the RESET button, all settings including the date and
time are cleared.)

You cannot identify an
indicator on the LCD
screen.

p Check the indicator (page 124).

The lens does not retract
even when the power is
turned off (MVC-CD400
only).

• The battery pack is discharged.

p Replace it with a fully charged battery or use the AC power

adaptor (pages 13, 16).

The lens gets fogged.

• Moisture condensation has occurred.

p Turn off the camera and wait for about an hour at the room

temperature for the moisture to evaporate before use (page 118).

The played back image is
small.

• You are playing back a file with an image size

larger than 2272×1704 (MVC-CD400) or
1600×1200 (MVC-CD250) that were recorded
by another camera.

A file error occurs when
you play back a file.

• The image file has an error.
• The image was not recorded correctly.
• The disc is dirty
• The disc may be scratched.



p Clean the disc.
p Replace the disc.
