For MVC-CD400
a Set the mode dial to , S, A,
M, SCN, or .
b Press FOCUS to select the
Focus range select mode.
Each time you press FOCUS, the focus
mode changes as follows:
Focus range select mode

Focus preset mode
r
Auto focus mode
c Turn the jog dial to select the
desired AF range mode.
You can select the AF range mode
from Multipoint AF, Center, Right,
Left, Top and Bottom.
The AF range mode indicator appears
at the upper right on the LCD screen.
When you press the shutter button
halfway down, the color of the AF
range finder frame changes from white
to green when focus is achieved.
• When you select Multipoint AF in step 3, the
automatically adjusted AF range finder frame
appears in green when focus is achieved.
To reactivate auto focusing
Press FOCUS twice in step 3.
For MVC-CD250
a Set the mode dial to , SCN,
or .
b Press MENU.
c Select 9 (FOCUS) with b / B ,
then select [MULTI AF] or
[CENTER AF] with
v / V .
The focus is adjusted automatically
using the AF range finder. The color of
the AF range finder frame changes
from white to green when focus is
achieved.
