Turn the jog dial until the number of
the desired first track flashes in the
display, and then press to enter.
This selects the first track of the new
group.
Even when group mode is on, track
numbers appear according to their
order on the disc, not their order
within the group.

Turn the jog dial until the number of
the desired last track flashes in the
display, and then press to enter.
This selects the last track of the new
group.

Label a group (see steps 5 to 8 of
“Labeling recordings” (page 51)).
On the remote control
1 Press DISPLAY for 2 seconds or more.
2 Turn the control repeatedly until “GROUP”
flashes in the display, and then press x to
enter.
3 Turn the control repeatedly until “GROUP
ON” appears in the display and then press x
to turn group mode on.
4 Press DISPLAY for 2 seconds or more.
5 Turn the control repeatedly until “GP:Set”
flashes in the display, and then press x to
enter.
6 Turn the control repeatedly until the number
of the desired first track flashes in the
display, and then press
x to enter.
7 Turn the control repeatedly until the number
of the desired last track flashes in the display,
and then press to enter.
8 If you continue labeling operation, do steps 5
to 7 of “On the remote control” in “Labeling
recordings” (page 52).
Notes
• In step 5, the first track must be either the first
track of an existing group or a track that does
not belong to a group.
• When selecting the last track in step 6, make
sure the track comes after the one selected in
step 5. The last track must be either the last
track of an existing group or a track that does
not belong to a group.
To release a group
setting
• Insert a disc with group settings.
On the recorder

Press GROUP for 2 seconds or more
to turn group mode on.

Select a group that you want to
release and check the contents (see
“Selecting and playing groups (Group
Skip Mode)” (page 41)).

Flip the bar towards x.

Press the jog dial.

Turn the dial until “EDIT” flashes in
the display, and then press to enter.

Turn the jog dial until “ : Release”
flashes in the display, and press to
enter.
“Release?” and “PushENTER”
appear in the display.
