To type text

Touch the button for the desired character from the keyboard that appeared.

To type in uppercase letters or symbols, touch [Shift].

Numbers can also be typed in with the keypad.

The entered characters appear in the text box.

Note

To revert to the setting when the keyboard was displayed, touch [Cancel].

To clear all entered text, press the [C] (clear) key.

Some buttons may not appear, depending on the characters being entered.

To change a character in the entered text, touch

[←] and [→] to move the cursor to the character to be

changed, touch [Delete], and then type in the desired letter or number.

Terms

Description

DSN

DSN = Abbreviation of Delivery Status Notifications. The delivery notification message
of sent message is shown on the sender machine when the mail server of the recipient
gets E-mail.

Internet Fax

A communication mode to transmit and receive the scanned original via intranet and
internet between internet fax and computer as E-mail attached files (TIFF format).

MDN

MDN = Abbreviation of Message Disposition Notifications.
Open confirmation message is sent when there is a request for confirming whether the
sender’s machine is ON.

POP3

Abbreviation of Post Office Protocol - Version 3.
A communication protocol (scheduled communication) generally used for transmis-
sion and reception of E-mail. There are functions like Mail box authentication, E-mail
downloading, List information confirmation and E-mail deletion.

SMTP

Abbreviation of Simple Mail Transfer Protocol.
A communication protocol (scheduled communication) generally used for transmis-
sion and reception of E-mail.
