Changing the display language
[Language]

You can select the language used in the voice
recorder’s displays.

[English], [Español], [Français].

TIP

The language selections vary

depending on where the voice recorder
was purchased.

Selecting the speaker output
[Speaker]

You can set the built-in speaker to be ON or
OFF when the earphones are not connected.
When set to [Off], sound will not be output
from the speaker even if the earphones are
accidentally disconnected. Use this setting to
prevent possible embarrassment on public
transport.

[On]:

The voice recorder’s playback sound is
output from the earphones when the
earphones are connected, or from the
built-in speaker when the earphones
are not connected.

[Off]:

The voice recorder’s playback sound is
not output from the built-in speaker
even if the earphones are disconnected.

NOTE

WS-823 model only
The setting for this function only

applies to file playback. To set
how speaker output is handled
when listening to FM radio, see the
description of the [Output] item in the
[FM Menu] menu (
