Hands-free Recording

The recorder can be used as a hands-free recording
device. To setup the recorder for hands-free
operation, connect the optional Olympus foot switch
(RS27/28) to the back of the cradle and place the
recorder in the cradle as shown in the diagram below.
You can set Hands-free operation of the
recorder to [Dictation] (default) or
[Transcription] by using the customize
functions of DSS Player (

☞P.68) and change

the allocation function to Foot Pedal.

Recording Monitor

It is possible to monitor your recording by
listening to the recording while recording is in
progress. Insert the earphone plug into the
earphone jack and use the + or – button to
control the volume level.

Notes

• The Olympus foot switch (RS27/28) is sold separately.

• Move the slide switch of the recorder to the STOP

position before connecting it to the cradle for hands-
free recording.

• To record with better quality using the hands-free

recording function, set the microphone sensitivity to
[Conference] mode, or use an external microphone.

Note

• Insert the plugs to the end as shown in the illustration

when inserting the earphone or external microphone.
