Hardware Kit Contains: Recommended Tools:
12) 3/8”x 1” hex bolts 9/16” Socket Wrench
12) 3/8” Flat Washers Drill- 1” hole saw
12) 3/8” Threaded Clips
Step 1: Locate the driver side nerf-step by matching the shorter tail bend to the front of the vehicle. NOTE:
Some models have a straight cut end with a cap, that end will face the rear tire.
Step 2: Starting with the driver’s side, locate the six factory mounting hex holes (which are positioned on the
vertical side of the floor pan below the doors) with two in the front, two in the middle, and two towards the
rear of the body.
Step 3: Mark and drill a pilot hole in the center between each factory hex head hole. Next, in each pilot hole,
drill a 1” hole using a 1” hole saw. Using the 3/8” threaded clips, slide two clips in each 1” hole outward, so
the threaded part is visible through the hex holes. SEE FIGURE 1.

Step 4: Align the nerf-step up to the body where the three brackets on the nerf-step match up to the six
threaded locations. Next, start all six 3/8” x 1” hex bolts, flat washers and finger tighten.
Step 5: Starting with the front, push the nerf-step up and torque the front bolt to 15-20 ft/lbs, level the rear tail
section and then torque the very rear bolt. Finally, tighten all remaining bolts in between. Repeat on
passenger side.
