3.3 PLATFORM OPERATION
• After engine start-up from the platform is successful, activate the footswitch to
enable the platform controls. The controls enable indicator will illuminate.
• If a control function is not operated within a seven second period, the controls
enable indicator will go out and the controls are disabled. Release the footswitch
and activate again to re-enable the controls.
• With the footswitch activated, operate the joystick (see page 2-8) to control the
boom and platform functions.
• If the platform is overloaded, the platform overload indicator will illuminate and
buzzer will sound. All platform functions are cut out. The load in the platform
must be decreased below the platform’s maximum capacity in order to allow
continued operation.
• The platform ready indicator will remain illuminated while the machine is in
platform mode. If a condition would exist to cause this light to go out all platform
functions are cut out and engine may shut off. Other personnel on the ground
should operate the telehandler ERS only as required to lower boom and
personnel. Refer to Section 5 of the Operator & Safety Manual supplied with
telehandler.
• If needed, push the emergency stop switch down to shut off power to platform
controls and shut off engine.
WARNING
TIP OVER HAZARD. Exceeding lift capacity of the telehandler/platform could
damage the equipment and/or cause tip over resulting in death or serious injury.
