4.0 INSTALLATION

Position the pump to ensure that air fl ow around the motor and
pump is unobstructed. Keep the motor clean to ensure maximum
cooling during operation.

4.1 Reservoir Breather

See Figure 1. A shipping plug (A) is installed in the breather port
on the top of the reservoir. Before using the pump, replace the
shipping plug (A) with the reservoir breather (B) and adapter fi tting
(C).

4.2 Oil Level

Check the pump oil level prior to start-up. The reservoir is full when
the oil level is up to the top line of the sight gauge as shown in
Figure 2. If necessary, add oil by removing the oil fi ll plug (D) from
the fi ller tube as shown in Figure 1. Use Enerpac HF oil (ISO Grade
32).

IMPORTANT: Add oil only when all system components are fully
retracted, or the system will contain more oil than the reservoir can
hold. The oil level can be above the top line of gauge, but should
remain at least 1 inch [2.5 cm] below the underside of the pump
coverplate.

4.3 Electrical Connections

WARNING: The pump is factory equipped with the
common electrical plug for a given voltage. Altering the
plug type should only be done by a qualifi ed electrician,

adhering to all applicable local and national codes.

1.

The disconnect and line circuit protection is to be provided by
customer. Line circuit protection is to be 115

%

of motor full

load current at maximum pressure of application.

2.

For more information, refer to pump name plate and/or motor
nameplate for power rating. Also refer to Section 3.2.

4.4 Hydraulic Connections

Threaded connections, such as
fi ttings, must be securely tightened
and leak free. Use 1-1/2 wraps
of Tefl on tape (or suitable thread
sealant) on all threads, leaving the
fi rst complete thread free of tape to
ensure no foreign matter enters the
hydraulic circuit. Trim loose ends.

IMPORTANT: Use care to prevent
pieces of tape from entering the
hydraulic system.

Connect hoses as shown in Figures 4 and 5.

Use hoses rated at 700 bar/10,000 psi operating pressure.
Couplers must be polarized per Figure 5 for correct wrench
operation. Ensure couplers are fully engaged and tightened before
operating. Partial coupler engagement will prevent proper wrench
operation.

WARNING: When using pumps with multi-wrench
manifolds, ensure all unused couplers have the
protective caps fully installed before starting pump.
