INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Thanks for purchasing Stainless Works Headers for your 2005-2010 Mustang V6. We
have gone to great pains to make sure that our exhaust systems fit and sound great.
Please follow these steps to ensure that your installation goes as planned.
1. Disconnect Battery.
2. Remove air box and ductwork.
3. Unscrew air tube from drivers side manifold.
4. Remove stock head pipe.
5. Unbolt and remove both manifolds and pull them out the bottom.
6. Remove dipstick and tube on driver’s side.
7. Put high temp silicone (RTV) on gasket and place it on studs on the head.
8. Install driver’s side header from underneath, bolt it to head.
9. Put never-seize on threads of air tube fitting and screw air tube onto header.
10. Install dipstick and tube.
11. Put high temp silicone (RTV) on passenger side gasket and install it on studs.
12. Put passenger side header in from bottom, on some cars you may have to unbolt
15mm nut on motor mount and jack up motor slightly to get header in, or remove
all studs, put header up in and reinstall studs, which ever you prefer.
13. Tighten all nuts.
14. Reinstall air box.
15. Install O2’s and extensions.
16. Make sure to have adequate clearance around all wires, hoses and lines. If
anything is in contact with the exhaust system, it will melt. Make sure to have
at least ½” of clearance and wrap any suspect areas with DEI thermal barrier
wrap.
17. After double-checking for clearance and making sure all lines, wires and hoses
are secured, drive the car for 10-20 miles and re-check all clamps and clearances.
