3.3.3 Battery Status Codes

Battery status codes give real time information on batteries as they are charged, discharged or
conditioned in the charger. These status codes are displayed on the VFD at the position marked in
Figure 5. The following table gives in-depth information on each status code and their meaning as
related to charger operation.

Code Code

meaning/Condition

CHG

Battery status read CHG when battery is accepting charge from
charger

CND

Battery status reads CND when battery is being conditioned.

EMP

Battery status reads EMP when no battery detected / no battery in bay

ERR

Battery status reads ERR when battery has error. This may be
triggered by lack of communications from battery, inability to
discharge etc. DO NOT USE BATTERY

FUL

Battery status reads FUL when battery is fully charged. This
condition will be displayed when battery capacity >95%. Battery will
still accept charge until it reaches rated capacity

OT

Battery staus reads OT when battery reports over-temperature.
Battery will NOT accept charge

IDL

Battery status reads IDL when battery is idle. Battery is neither
charging nor discharging
