Network Solution 4:

Verify that the Firewall on the
computer has Vision loaded as an
“exception”.

This is located under “Control
Panel”, “Windows Firewall”.

If this is not enabled, click “Add
Program” and select “Vision”
from the list.

When finished, click “OK”

Network Retry, XP and Vista:

Windows XP and Vista users
should click on “Retry Only”. This
command resets the
communication port, and allows
Vision to “find” the instrument, if
connected properly.

Network Retry, Windows
2000:

Windows 2000 users should click
on “Retry/Reset”. This command
resets the communication port,
and also resets Windows 2000 to
the proper state to connect using
a dynamic IP address in the XDS
instrument.

Direct Connection Troubleshooting Overview

If no XDS instrument shows as “available”, the computer may need to be configured for the IP
address range of the XDS instrument. It may be necessary to contact your IT department for
