The aspect ratio is the ratio of the horizon-
tal dimension (width) to the vertical dimen-
sion (height) of a screen. It is expressed
as "width : height."
The following aspect ratios are normally
used in Computer or AV equipment.

[4:3]
The aspect ratio for SXGA+ (1400 x 1050)
and XGA (1024 x 768) display resolution in
PC or for the traditional television screen.
The aspect ratio for this projector is 4:3.

[5:4]
The aspect ratio for SXGA (1280 x 1024)
display resolution.

[16:9]
The aspect ratio for the high resolution digital
television or digital terrestrial broadcasting.

For the aspect ratio for movie screens,
"vista vision size" and "cinema scope size",
etc. are used.

"Vista vision size"
The aspect ratio close to 16:9. Select
[Auto] or [16:9] for [Aspect]. The back
belts are added at the top and bottom of
the image.

"Cinema scope size"
The landscape-oriented aspect ratio of
8:3. Select [Auto] or [16:9] for [Aspect].
The back belts are added at the top and
bottom of the image.

A signal system used to send a color sig-
nal (C) with it divided into a B-Y color dif-
ference signal and an R-Y color difference
signal. This system can project a better-
quality image as compared with the com-
posite signal system. Connect the compo-
nent video terminal on the AV equipment
and the ANALOG PC-2/COMPONENT IN
terminal on this projector with a compo-
nent cable. Select [COMPONENT] at pro-
jection.

To reproduce an image from an analog
image signal, the process to accumulate
image information at the appropriate tim-
ing with reference to the synchronization
signal within the image signal is required.
This process is called the tracking. This
projector can display an image properly
by automatically adjust the tracking with
the auto PC adjustment function even if
there is a small difference in the synchroni-
zation signal from an analog imaging
device.

The number of dots (horizontal dots x ver-
tical dots) that can be displayed on the
screen. It describes the fineness (informa-
tion amount) of the displayed image.
