Hardware Requirements
q Computer with installed KISS-Stor 1 or 0/5 RAID subsystem
q 3-pin RS232 cable for out-band connection to host computer (optional)
q Monitor with display resolution of 800 x 600 (recommended)
Prerequisite
Before installing the KSView management software for KISS-Stor 0/5 RAID
subsystem, you must:
q install the KISS-Stor 0/5 to a computer (refer to “Installing the KISS-Stor 0/5“
chapter),
q initialize the array (refer to “Initializing the Array” chapter),
q
have an installed operating system on your computer,
q to install Java Runtime Environment (JRE Version 1.5.0_03, jre-1_5_0_03-
windows-i586-p.exe or later). This Java application is free.
The computer with integrated KISS-Stor 1 or 0/5 RAID
subsystem can be installed as a standalone system or in a
network environment.
The tools „E-mail alert“ and „Remote Monitoring“ of the
KSView management software can be used only if the
computer with the installed KISS-Stor 0/5 (target) is installed
in a network connection with an other computer (host).
The Java Runtime Environment (JRE Version 1.5.0_03, jre-
1_5_0_03-windows-i586-p.exe or later) has to be installed
on both computers (target and host).
