R Shutter-Priority AE

In this mode, you set the shutter speed and the camera sets the aperture
value automatically to suit the subject brightness. A fast shutter speed
can freeze the motion of a fast-moving subject and a slow shutter speed
can blur the subject to give the impression of motion.
∗ <R> stands for Time value which is the shutter speed.

Taken with a fast shutter speed.

Taken with a slow shutter speed.

Turn the Mode Dial to <R>.

Select the desired shutter speed.

Turn the <l> dial.

The shutter speed can be set in half-
stop increments.

Press the shutter button halfway
to focus the subject.

The aperture value is set
automatically.

Check the viewfinder display and
take the picture.

A correct exposure will be obtained
as long as the aperture value display
is not blinking.
