AWARNING
Be sure vent pipe is properly connected to prevent escape of
dangerous flue gases which could cause deadly asphyxiation.
AWARNING
Chemical vapor corrosion of the flue and vent system may
occur if air for combustion contains certain chemical vapors.
Spray can propellants, cleaning solvents, refrigerator and air
conditioner refrigerants, swimming pool chemicals, calcium
and sodium chloride, waxes, bleach, and process chemicals are
typical compounds v^ich are potentially corrosive.
Vertical and horizontal runs must be securely supported at 3 V 2

ABS Schedule 40 vent piping supplied in the water heater
carton:
1. A3" ABS Schedule 40-45° vent cap with wire screen,
2. A3" PVC Schedule 40-90° street ell; used to connect the
vent pipe to the water heater when the vent pipe is to be
turned norizontally directly ofF the blower.
3 . A 5' section of 3" PVC Schedule 40 pipe (more may be
required and must be supplied locally).

The water heater requires its own (separate) venting system.
1. The water heater requires its own (separate) venting system.
2. 3" PVC, ABS or CPVC Schedule 40 piping and fittings are
acceptable materials for the vent system on all 40 gallon
models and 50 gallon 40,000 BTU/HR models,

1. A wire screen to fit a 2" PVC Schedule 40-45° vent cap is
supplied with the water heater.
2. A 2" PVC Schedule 40-45° vent cap (must be supplied locally).
3. A 3" PVC Schedule 40 pipe, minimum length of 3" (must
be supplied locally).
4. A 3" to 2" PVC Schedule 40 reducer (must be supplied
locally).
5. A 2" PVC Schedule 40-90° street ell; used to connect the
vent pipe to the reducer when the vent pipe is to be turned
horizontally off the blower (supplied locally).
6. A 2” PVC Schedule 40 pipe (must be supplied locally).
